Misses vs. Petites Proportions
Misses sized clothing: Proportioned for a person with an average frame and height of 5’5” to 5’8”.
Petites sized clothing: Proportioned for a person with a smaller frame who is 5’4” and shorter. Petites garment lengths and design ease have been adjusted to be proportional to the misses styling.
Proportion tips: People who are in between 5’4” and 5’5” may need a combination of misses and petites. If you normally wear regular misses sizing, please order one size up in petites sizing.
Petites sizing differences:
- short dress and skirt lengths are 2” shorter
- long dress and skirt lengths are 3” shorter
- pant inseams are 2” shorter
- pant rise (crotch height) is ½” shorter
- blouse and jacket lengths are 1” shorter
- blouse and jacket long sleeve lengths are 1 ½” shorter
- blouse, jacket and dress waist positions are raised ½”
- full dress and skirt sweeps are reduced proportionally
- petites body measurements are ½” smaller than misses sizing
